Finally, after a very long few days of waiting, Mia delivered her first puppy at 3:30 AM, Tuesday, March 27th, 2012. The sixth and last puppy was born at 7:10 AM. There are 3 boys and 3 girls. All doing well.

The pups are doing so great. They are such a great-looking litter and oh my gosh are they getting fun! They are escaping the whelping box and tomorrow will receive their first taste of puppy mash and a deworming. They are playing and barking and can get quite loud and rowdy already. Too stinking cute!
The Cowboys litter turned six-weeks old and the picking has begun. Jesse was the first pick and will be going to live in PA!

Just as most of the rest of the country is experiencing warmer than usual temperatures, so it is here in the UP. Crazy, insane warm temperatures for the UP. In March. It’s been in the upper 60s and mid-70s! Actually more like Summer than Spring, if you ask me. The trees are budding!
In the midst of the incredible amount of pain and sadness of this week, there is so much to be thankful and joyous for so I will try to concentrate on those things now and share some good news, instead of sad news!
Yesterday brought a wonderful snow storm (if you are me and like snow storms) to our area of the Upper Peninsula. I’ve had white most of the winter, but this was indeed the most snow at one time. We are to receive another 5-6″ Friday, too. Yahoo!
